Welcome back to the weekend preview of 9 premier league matches. We scored solidly with 6 winning tips from a possible 10 in the midweek preview, so let's hope the weekend can bear even more profits.
Everton v Arsenal
Saturday 5th April 12.30
We can let Everton off with regards to their only defeat from the last 10 matches, seeing as it was to champions elect and bitter rivals Liverpool.
The fantastic form and confidence that Moyes has got out of a very average squad of players is nothing short of miraculous. I can see this match being quite low in quality and somewhat standard of an early kick off, Everton to get at least a draw has great value for me.
Arsenal are playing solid football of late, retaining and solidifying their 2nd place spot with a 2-1 home win over Fulham.
However, Arsenal have seemed to really struggle over the last few years travelling to the home of the Toffee's. They have only 1 away win, 1 away draw and 5 losses in their last 7 visits to Goodison park. Will their final visit before Everton move to their new stadium bear anymore fruit than before?
Tip - Everton or the draw - 19/20
If we look at the recent history of the matches at Goodison park. That and the revival in fron from Moyes side, then it's hard to see Arsenal getting all 3 points. We have tipped and predicted with that history in mind.
Prediction - Everton 1-1 Arsenal
Crystal Palace vs Brighton
Saturday 5th April 15.00
This match pits two teams in fantastic form of late, with both teams also having injured strikers returning this could definitely be a game full of goals.
Palace have been incredibly solid at home, winning their last match at Selhurst park against Ipswich. With an attacking line of Sarr, Eze and Mateta the Eagles can and have been a handful for most teams this season.
Brighton have had another amazing season which sees them within touching distance of a European place. This being done again with a new manager, along with a shoestring budget and selling their best players every season seems so improbable, yet here we are again.
Tip - Both teams to score - 8/13
With the quality players on show from both sides, and the fluid; attractive attacking football being played from both teams. Both teams to score at 8/13 could quite simply be buying money.
This is a match that could quite easily go either way, and predicting an away win could very quickly leave my Super 6 dead and buried, but watching Brighton this season I just feel they will have enough to get the 3 points this weekend.
Prediction - Crystal Palace 1-3 Brighton
Ipswich vs Wolves
Saturday 5th April 15.00
Ipswich got a very surprising fantastic away win at high flying Bournemouth in their last match. Delap on target again which continues his very good first prem season, he's attracting a lot of interest from some big sides after what seems Ipswich's inevitable relegation.
Wolves also won their last matches against a misfiring West Ham side, even without their star player Cunha the rest of the lads have pulled together to still climb the table. Jorgen Larsen has scored quite a few and many important goals this season, and has somewhat gone under the radar. The Norwegian who's on loan with an obligation currently, surely is going to be brought after a stellar start to his Wolves career?
Tip - Under 2.5 goals - 8/11
Both sides are playing well, but ultimately do not score many goals in either victory or defeat. The under 2.5 seems like very good value seeing as this could ve a very tense match.
Neither of these sides tend to win numerous games back to back, this alongside the fact both never seem to score freely. This should mean a low scoring draw prediction could be a very good shout.
Prediction - Ipswich 1-1 Wolves
West Ham vs Bournemouth
Saturday 5th April 15.00
West Ham have not have a good time of it of late, replacing their manager mid-season hasn't had the immediate effect that fans hoped for. Winning only 3 of his first 11 matches in charge of the Hammers, Potter really hasn't got his thoughts and way of playing across to his players just yet.
Bournemouth have been brilliant for the most part of this season, with the manager and numerous players impressing so much that they are on the shopping list of many a bigger club. Last time out however saw them have a slight wobble against one of the struggling sides. Is this a proper wobble and something to worry about? Or will they get back on track and start scoring goals for fun again?
Tip - Bournemouth to win - 13/10
Watching both teams recently it's hard to see where the Hammers can score enough to really worry the Cherries. Bournemouth to win is very good value as long as they shake off the Ipswich game.
With Jarrod Bowen in your side you can always create chances, and sometimes score goals on his own at times. However the sheer amount of players that Bournemouth have in incredible form this season, means that we just cannot see West Ham improving their recent form. If you don't like Bournemouth to win, also look at the impressive Evanilson to score anytime, a banker most weeks at 21/10
Prediction - West Ham 1-3 Bournemouth
Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest
Saturday 5th April 17.30
Aston Villa are simply the form team in the prem of late, whether at home or away they always seem to have a way of getting the victory. The January transfers have had the exact effect that Emery would have wished for. Donyell Malen and Asensio have been very solid when coming in, and unpredictably Emery has even found a way of restarting the broken down career of Marcus Rashford.
Nottingham Forest have also had fantastic form of late, barely losing and winning some very important games against the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City. The huge shock of Forest getting Champions league football is not only possible, it now seems just a matter of time.
Tip - Rashford to score or assist - 11/10
It is very hard to find value in this game for me, but with Rashford scoring or assisting in Villa's last 4 matches in all competitions. That bet at 11/10 seems like the best value bet avaliable.
Villa, like I have mentioned above, have seemed to find a way to win of late. THey will obviously have to work hard to keep the likes of Elanga, And Giibs-White quiet. But with the distinct possibility of players like Chris Wood and Hudson'-Odoi missing I feel that the home side will have just enough to win a close run match.
Prediction - Aston Villa 2-1 Forest
Brentford vs Chelsea
Sunday 6th April 14.00
Brentford have been a strange outfit this season. The first half of the season winning every home match and being poor away. Then flipping completely to being unable to win a match at home and winning 4 in a row on the road. The one constant has been the consistent brilliant performances from Mbeumo and Wissa. The two clinical attackers have mean that Brentofrd simply haven't missed Ivan Toney leaving at all.
Chelsea started the season brilliantly and at Christmas their fans must have been dreaming of a sniff at winning the title this season. However the second half of the season has been very poor with goals being very hard to come by. After spending the vast amounts of money the new owners have, not buying a prolific striker has definitely cost them this year.
Brentford or the draw - 4/6
Chelsea have been very poor away from home, especially when playing a side that aren't well organised. This is definitely how you could describe Brentford, therefore a Brentford win or draw is our choice here.
A team with two prolific strikers who love scoring at home against an away side who have to rely on midfielders turning up nicking a goal. It's hard to see Chelsea getting a result here; Brentford are a well drilled side who are great on the counter attack.
Prediction - Brentford 2-1 Chelsea
Fulham vs Liverpool
Sunday 6th April 14.00
Fulham have had a very good season, but looking at their recent form does not make good reading for their fans. Other than a win against struggling Spurs they have lost every other 4 of their last 5 matches. The London based side are stuttering at the worst possible time, not many goals being scored of late and the inconsistent forms of Iwobi, Smith-Rowe and Jimenez. Thus could mean that Fulham drop out of the race for a place in Europe next season.
Liverpool got back on track with a 1 nil win against local rivals Everton in their last match. But they also have their struggles and worries with a few big players suffering from either a drop in performance or suffering from an injury. Over the last few seasons Liverppol have dominated Fulham in every match the sides have played, and unless Fulham's big players wake up it's hard to see this recent record changing this weekend.
Tip - Liverpool to win - 5/6
The odds on Liverpool to win this season have seldom been this close to evens, for me it's hard to ignore and not back as very good value.
Liverpool could struggle a little without the partnership of Salah and Trent on the right hand side. But looking at the unbelievable talent they have across the park, I feel that they will undoubtedly find a way again.
Prediction - Fulham 1-2 Liverpool
Tottenham vs Southampton
Sunday 6th April 14.00
Some of the unhappiest fans in the prem of late have to be the Spurs fans with so many preseason hopes and dreams, their season has been almost decimated with a cacophony of injuries and poor performances. It's hard to imagine them stringing 2 wins together currently Son and Maddison are two players that really need to step up and be counted to make the difference this weekend.
Now we can speak about the truly most unhappy fans in the premier league, Southampton fans are dreaming about scoring two matches in a row let alone stringing two wins together. They were very unfortunate last time out conceding a last gasp equalising goal at home to Crystal Palace must have been a very bitter pill to swallow.
Tip - Under 3.5 goals - 5/6
With stuttering attacks, poor finishing from both sides and ultimately both sides having their confidence levels on the floor it's not possible to see this being a high scoring affair. I was shocked to see the odds that high, usually under 3.5 goals in any match are much lower!
Spurs really must start winning matches and fortunately they really couldn't have a better opponent to break themselves out of this funk. I very nearly predicted a 0-0 for this game but hoped better of it.
Prediction - Spurs 2-1 Southampton
Man Utd vs Man City
Sunday 6th April 16.30
The match of the weekend.... on paper!
Will this be the kind of Derby we all hope it will be, with strong challenges flying in, plenty of goals and bragging right being desperately fought for.
Man Utd have been pretty solid recently but really haven't pulled up any flowers let alone trees. It's hard to pick out any attacking players that have been consistently good, perhaps with the exception of Bruno. Scoring has remained inconsistent at best throughout the entire season thus far. Will Hojlund finally turn up and fulfill the promise, after coming from Atalanta for a huge £72million?
Man City had a nice easy game against Leicester midweek, scoring a couple even without their main man Haaland being available. The huge Norwegian will miss the next few weeks and the chance to score more against the local rivals. The responsibility of replacing the missing goals falls on the shoulders of the City new boy Marmoush. He has been very effective when given his chances, but let's see how he handles his first Manchester Derby.
Tip - Man City to win - 11/10
Pep's Man City have definitely improved their performances of late, and with the stuttering attack of their opponents i feel an away win and the bragging rights will be with the blue side on Sunday.
Like many other coaches and teams before them, I can see Manchest United setting up their team to nullify City, rather than playing to their own strengths. This rarely works out against Pep, who's sides have more often than not found a way through to ultimately win even the scrapping of matches.
Prediction - Man Utd 0-2 Man City
